Thank You!

What a year and what a decade it has been!  The many celebrations over the past two weeks have been really wonderful.  It goes without saying that it truly requires a team effort to develop and sustain a vibrant learning community.  Firstly, my sincere thanks to all the staff members who continuously show devotion and commitment.  Sincere thanks to the Board of Management for their continued direction in providing a quality experience for the children in our school.  Huge thanks to the parents who support their children and contribute in a multitude of ways to strengthen our school community.  Finally, sincere thanks to the children whose curiosity, kindness and enthusiasm are always evident and in abundance.  So much has been achieved over the past decade, exceeding expectations.  It is exciting to imagine how our school community will continue to develop and grow as it begins its second decade!

On a personal note, thank you all for making my “big” birthday so special.  The numerous beautiful and heartfelt cards from all the children mean so much.  Sincere thanks to all the parents for the incredibly thoughtful and generous gift.  I’m sincerely grateful.  I hope everyone has an enjoyable, relaxing and invigorating summer!

The New Academic Year

The new school year begins on Thursday, 29th August.  Once recruitment is complete, we will let everyone know who will be teaching which classes at the beginning of August.  Next year the school expenses will be €35 per child, and this can be paid once the new school year commences.  The 2024-2025 school calendar is available on the website.

Gaelbhratach

Chuireamar fáilte roimh Áine ó Gael Linn ar an Déardaoin agus bhronn sí Gaelbhratach ar ár scoilBhaineamar an brat amach toisc go raibh pobal na scoile ar fad ag iarraidh Gaeilge labhartha a chur chun cinn.  Bhí tionól spesialta againn agus bhí uachtar reoite ag gach duine mar chéiliúiradh.

We welcomed Áine from Gael Linn on Thursday and she presented the school with our Gaelbhratach.  This was achieved because the entire school community has been working together to encourage more spoken Irish.  We had a special assembly and then enjoyed ice cream to celebrate.

Graduation

We celebrated with our newest graduating class on Thursday.  We had a wonderful occasion, paying tribute to all their achievements as well as thanking them and their families who have contributed so much to our school community.  We wish the Class of 2024 the very best next year in secondary school. These children and their parents will always be a part of our school community, and we look forward to hearing all about the amazing things they will do in the future.

Best Wishes to Arike

Everyone wishes Arike the very best next year as she takes a career break to further her studies.  Sincere thanks for your kindness and dedication to the children of our school!

Sphero Demonstration

As part of the funding received for STEM earlier this year, the school purchased Sphero, a robotic coding activity.  4th Class did an impressive demonstration for the rest of the school of various projects they had developed using Sphero.

Consultation on Developing Outdoor and Sensory Spaces

Many thanks to all the parents, staff and children who participated in the recent consultation process to help us consider how we can further improve and develop the outdoor spaces, particularly the courtyards, to support wellbeing in our school community.  In the autumn we invite any interested parents to join a working group that will work towards implementing the ideas gathered through the consultation process.
