Re-Opening of the School Building

Many thanks to everyone for helping to contribute to such a positive first week of school this year. We appreciate all your cooperation with the procedures.

Parking for Drop-off and Collection

Sincere thanks to everyone for the patience and cooperation at drop-off and collection time. To be good neighbours within our community, We’d also ask that parents not enter the estates and ensure that traffic flow can be maintained. Particularly we’d ask parents to be very mindful of avoiding creating any obstruction to access of the two housing estates, especially any driveways.

Park and Stride

One way of helping at drop-off and collection times as well as to become more active and fit is to participate in the Park and Stride initiative organised by Galway City Council. You can register online at www.galwaycity.ie/parkandstride or return paper application available on the website and we will issue a permit. This will allow you to park at Knocknacarra Community Centre and then walk to and from school.

Illness

Thanks for your cooperation regarding illness. In general, children should stay home if they are feeling unwell in any way but particularly if they present with any symptoms associated with COVID-19. This will help keep all of us safe. We’d just ask that you email your child’s class teacher or Claudia or phone the school to let us know.

Afterschool Clubs

We hope to announce afterschool clubs by the end of the week that will commence from the 21st September. Only activities that are outdoors or restricted to class bubbles will take place at this time.

School Expenses

Many thanks to those of you who have paid the school expenses for this year which covers all the school books, stationery, photocopying, arts and crafts supplies and pupil personal accident insurance. A reminder that the personal accident insurance is a 24-hour policy, so please contact Claudia or Matt if you have questions or concerns about this insurance.
