School Closure

The school will be closed on Monday, 28th September for one day. This is a planned closure. Afterschool @ KETNS is hosting a one-day camp. If you are interested in having your child attend, please contact Jenni via email at jennihynes@gmail.com.

Drop Off and Collection

Sincere thanks to everyone who have been so helpful in making the mornings and afternoons run smoothly. A reminder that supervision is provided from 8.40 on-wards, and the school cannot accept responsibility for children who arrive on school grounds before this time. Secondly, we know it is challenging for parents not to be able to meet and socialize as we would normally do. We kindly ask that parents drop off and collect children as quickly as possible and not congregate, particularly outside the doors. Your continued cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Attendance

Parents have asked for some guidance about when a child should shouldn’t attend school. The main considerations is that if a child is feeling unwell the best advice is to stay home. The information on the next page provides good clarity, but feel free to contact the school if you have any questions.

Afterschool Clubs

We will begin our first afterschool clubs this coming week. More clubs may begin in a week or two, including Evasion Games with Christian and Basketball for older classes. To book either of the clubs described below, please email Claudia (secretary@ketns.ie). This year parents are asked to pay the club leaders directly for the term at the end of the first session. All clubs will only go ahead if a sufficient number of children is interested.

Superhero Training

Miss Laurie of Step It Up Dance Arts is offering Superhero Training (movement classes) for junior and senior infants. These will take place in the hall from 13.30-14.30. Senior Infants will take place on Wednesday. Junior Infants will take place on Thursday. The first session will take place next week (30th September and 1st October), running for 10 weeks. The cost for the 10 sessions is €55.

Soccer

with Ronan and Enda Enda will lead soccer skills training session for infants from 13.30-14.30. Junior Infants will attend on Wednesdays and Senior Infants will attend on Thursdays. Enda and Ronan will have sessions for older class as well, keeping them in class bubbles for all activities. 1st, 2nd and 3rd will attend on Wednesdays. 4th and 5th classes will attend on Thursdays. Each group will have 10 sessions beginning this next week. The cost per child is €50.

Soccer training sessions will take place outdoors, so children must be prepared and dress accordingly for all weather possibilities as the session will go ahead except in the event of an extreme weather warning and dress accordingly. Children who are staying afterschool following the club should bring a change of clothes so they can be comfortable for the rest of the afternoon.
