Based on feedback from the children of the senior yard (3rd to 6th Class) that they wanted more organised soccer matches during yard time, a intra-school soccer league was organised. Teams were made up of a mix of children from the classes. A number of children kindly and ably refereed the matches, and it was great to see their independence. Each team played at least 10 matches (with some matches not possible do to rain). Two exciting semi-finals took place as well as a Third Place match. Today we had our final between Teams 4 and 6. It was incredibly exciting with many spectators and a very close finish. Congratulations to Team 6 who are the champions of the soccer league. All the children who participated will now vote on who should represent the school at the upcoming FAI 5-a-side Competition.
