Sports Day
Our annual Sports Day will take place this Thursday, 15th June. We are still looking for parent volunteers to lead the activities that day. If you haven’t already done so, please sign up by using this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E49AAAF22A7F9C43-sports1.

Volunteers will need to be available from 9.15 to 12.15. All the equipment and activities will be arranged in advance, so all you have to do is come and assist us. We will be providing some special treats after the event and would ask that children bring in €2 to cover the cost of these.

End-of-Year Assemblies and Ice Cream Socials

End-of-year assemblies have been scheduled. This are events where the classes will share music, poems and more about their learning over the year. They will be followed by an ice cream social. Ice cream and toppings will be organised, and we’d ask families to make a contribution of €1 per person for anyone who attends. We’d also ask, if at all possible, that parents walk or cycle (you can park at Cappagh Park and walk over too) so that the road in front of the school is clear and no one parks on the kerbs.
 5th Class – Monday, 19th June – 13.45
 3rd & 4th Class – Thursday, 22nd June – 13.30
 Junior & Senior Infants – Friday, 23rd June – 12.45
 1st & 2nd Class – Tuesday, 27th June – 13.30
The 6th Class Graduation will take place on Wednesday, 28th June.

Portfolios
Children will bring home their portfolios to share with their families on Friday, 16th June. Children in Junior Infants, 1st, 3rd and 5th Class should return them to their
class teachers no later than Friday, 23rd June. Looking at your child’s portfolio is a great work to talk about and celebrate their achievements.

New Sports Kits
We are delighted with the new jerseys and singlets we have received for our school. They are bright and super for use at athletic competitions. The jerseys made their
first appearance at a hurling blitz hosted by Rahoon/Newcastle GAA. The singlets were used for the first time last week at the City sports competition.

Well done to all the participants who represented the school at these events. Special thanks to our sponsors who help to support the purchase of these sports kits:
Evergreen Healthfoods, Health Services Staffs Credit Union (HSSCU) and Claddagh Credit Union.

Active School Walkway
We have a new walkway set up around the school grounds as part of our Active School work. Different classes are using it in various ways to promote physical
activity, cooperation and other skills.

Summer Camps and Activities
Please see the notices below about a number of camps and activities for children taking place this summer. Also, the Afterschool @ KETNS will be offering camps
every week during the month of July.

Children who attend our school are being offered a
discount or this camp. Please use the code KETN5 when
contacting Réalta to receive €5 off your booking.
