Mid-Term Break

The school will close for the mid-term break from Monday, 30th October through Friday, 3rd November inclusive.  Friday, 27th October will have an ordinary dismissal time.  Afterschool @ KETNS is running a four-day camp.  Please contact the afterschool staff to secure a place for your child.

Fancy Dress and One Day Together

Children are invited to dress up for Halloween on Friday, 27th October.  Children can wear their costume to school.  Please do not bring that resembles a weapon.  We look forward to a fun day.  All Educate Together schools will be celebrating One Day Together, the annual fundraiser for Educate Together to assist the organization in supporting existing schools as well as expand the network.  We’ll have a collection for Educate Together on Friday.  Please give your donation to the office or your child’s class teacher.

Parent-Teacher Assocation AGM

The annual Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday, 24th October at the school at 19.00 at the school.  The committee and officers will be elected for this academic year.  All parents are invited to attend.

5th and 6th Class Breakfast Fundraiser

Rang a 5&6 raised €175 for UNICEF for the conflict in Gaza last Friday by hosting a breakfast party. If any other families would like to donate, please feel free to give the money to Padraic or Áine.

Enrolment for 2024-2025

The enrolment window is now open for the new class of Junior Infants, as well as for other classes, for the 2024-2025 school year.  Siblings of children currently enrolled are given priority, but applications for junior infants must be completed by 12th January 2024.  Please visit the school website to complete an application (www.ketns.ie/admissions).  Please feel free to share this information with friends and neighbours.  There will be an Open Evening for families interested in enrolling in the school on Thursday, 23rd November from 18.30 to 19.30.

Baboró

Several classes went to performances and exhibitions as part of the Baboró Children’s Arts Festival.  Senior Infants attended a show called Plock!  They also had a surprise visit to the fire station.

Maths Week

All the classes completed a number of special activities to mark Maths Week. 

Junior Infants explored patterns, shapes and colours.

2nd Class created maths haunted houses using various shapes.

4th Class did a Dingbats scavenger hunt.

5th and 6th Class played a number of games together.
