Afterschool Clubs

The afterschool clubs have all commenced.  With the exception of Dungeons and Dragons, there are spaces still available in other clubs.  Everyone should have now received an email receipt.ere

Violin Lessons with Music Generation

There are several vacancies for children interested in learning to play violin through the Music Generation programme. These small group lessons are taught by Ingrid Nicola, an accomplished violinist, experienced teacher and member of ConTempo Quartet.  The lessons take place on Thursday mornings during the school day.  The cost is €120 for the year of weekly lessons and includes the use of a violin.  Please contact Claudia if your child is interested in participating.

Outdoor Learning and Sensory Spaces in KETNS

It is a very exciting time in the development and prioritization of outdoor learning and sensory spaces to enhance the wellbeing of the school community. Last June, as part of the school self-evaluation process we engaged in consultation regarding the redevelopment of the two internal courtyards. The data was collected and analysed.  Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this process.  The graphs below summarise the data collected from parents, children and staff.

We are now ready to take action.  The next step is to establish a Courtyard Action Group.  This group will establish a timeline for the project and ensure its successful implementation. If you’d like to be part of a group that and makes a difference and you have an interest in nature, outdoor learning, gardening, construction, biodiversity, sustainability, creativity, play, diversity, inclusivity or wellbeing, please contact Eileen at eileen@ketns.ie or complete this online form: https://forms.gle/mQhnsfp4qydXjvCQA. Thank you!

Gardening

A group of parents regularly meet to work together on simple gardening projects for the school.  New members are warmly welcomed!

Cross Country

Congratulations to the 25 children who represented the school at the recent Galway Cross Country semi-finals.  Everyone did so well, and we’re very pleased that one of our pupils qualified for the final.

Whole-School Assemblies

We had our first whole-school tionól (assembly) last week.  These fortnightly gatherings are a chance for the classes to share news, songs, poems and we even had a maths lesson.
